With extensive upgrading of the park facilities in Mayors Park, Yarra City Council called for tenders to supply and install upgraded play equipment to complement the extensive landscape works being undertaken. Mayors Park is a triangle shaped park located between Hoddle St, Heidelberg Rd and Turnbull St in Clifton Hill.
As the playground was to be in close proximity to a community leisure centre and tennis courts it needed to cater for all ages but not take up too much valuable space.
The result is a compact playground with easy-access stairs, junior activities and infant slide plus a variety of activities for older children including pommel walker, spider net, rock climbing wall and curved slide.
The bold colours of purple, orange, teal and yellow as well as the contemporary curved roofs add a dramatic feature to the park.
