Project Overview
Bourke Park in Pakenham, updated by Cardinia Shire Council, is a playground that offers an amazing play experience for children of all ages. The playground features the incredible Orbit range, which provides a futuristic look and an array of opportunities for imaginative and physical play. Safe Play and Cardinia Shire Council worked together to design a play area that provides a diverse range of passive and active play opportunities for children, promoting their social and emotional growth.
The Orbit range is the highlight of Bourke Park, offering a sleek and innovative design that captures children’s attention. It provides ample opportunities for physical and imaginative play, such as climbing, sliding, swinging, and balancing challenges that help develop their motor skills, coordination, and balance. Moreover, it is designed to encourage social play, allowing children to interact with each other and develop communication and teamwork skills.
Aside from the Orbit range, Bourke Park also features other exciting play equipment such as a matrix, spin-a-way, swing with toddler and strap seats, jitterbug, an essentials play structure, and tornado. The Custom Play structure is particularly noteworthy, with a chime panel, counting panel, and color panel that provide sensory play opportunities and foster learning. Children can climb up the stairs, slide down the curved slide, swing on the tornado Swing, and explore the various elements of the play structure, including the telescope panel and squeeze bars.
In addition to being a fun and exciting place for kids to play, Bourke Park provides numerous benefits for their development and well-being. Play is an essential part of a child’s life, enabling them to learn, explore, and grow in a safe and supportive environment. Through play, children can develop their cognitive, physical, and social skills, building their confidence, creativity, and resilience.
Cardinia Shire Council recognized the significance of play for children’s growth and development, and this is reflected in the design of Bourke Park. The playground offers a range of opportunities for children to engage in physical activity, promoting cardiovascular health, building strong bones and muscles, and maintaining a healthy weight. Moreover, the playground provides a space where children can build relationships with their peers, form positive connections, and develop their social skills.
In summary, Bourke Park in Pakenham, updated by Cardinia Shire Council, is an exciting and fun-filled playground that provides numerous opportunities for children’s growth and development. With its innovative and diverse play equipment, supportive environment, and numerous benefits for children’s physical, social, and emotional well-being, it is a place that children and parents alike will surely enjoy.
