Project Overview
he new prep playground at Brookside P-9 College in Melton City Council sounds like an exciting and engaging space for young children to play and explore. With a wide range of play inclusions, such as Bubble Panels, Naughts and Crosses Panel, Congo Net, and more, children can develop their physical, social, and cognitive skills while having fun.
One of the benefits of play is that it supports children’s physical development. Through this play structure the activities such as climbing, crawling, and sliding, children can improve their coordination, balance, and gross motor skills. The soft fall rubber with frog leap pads, number snake, alphabet caterpillar, ladder, and hop scotch provide a safe and comfortable surface for children to play on, reducing the risk of injuries and encouraging them to take risks and try new things.
Play also supports children’s social and emotional development. By engaging in play with others, children can develop their communication, negotiation, and cooperation skills. They can learn to share, take turns, and resolve conflicts, building their social competence and confidence.
Furthermore, play can enhance children’s cognitive development. By exploring and experimenting with the different play inclusions, children can develop their problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills. They can learn to make connections between different ideas and objects, and to think outside the box.
Overall, the new prep playground at Brookside P-9 College provides children with an exciting and stimulating space to play and learn. Through play, children can develop a range of skills and abilities that will support their growth and development, setting them up for success both now and in the future.
