McArthur St Reserve – Darling Gardens

Welcome to the incredible playground upgrade at McArthur St Reserve – Darling Gardens in South Yarra, made possible by the Stonnington City Council.  Get ready to be amazed, as this playground has so much to offer!

The playground features a stunning mist green and orange essentials structure, with timber elements that give it a natural and inviting feel. With a curved slide, stairs for easy access, tube net climber, XOXO panel, wobble walker, congo net bridge, step joiner, pommel walker, timber ramp, squeeze panel, three rope net climbers, spider net, roman rings, hang n glide, observation panel, spiral slide, and slanted steel roofs for shade protection, there’s no shortage of fun and challenging play equipment to explore.

The swing set is particularly impressive, with an all abilities seat, toddler seat, and strap seat, all accessible via a giant rubber path that ensures accessibility for children of all abilities. On the other side of the playground, there’s a rubber path leading from the gate to the freestanding elements, including a cubby with shop front panel, shelf panel for imaginative play, and a steer and gear panel – all easily accessible for wheelchairs.

But that’s not all – behind the freestanding elements, there’s a sensory area with merry-g0-round, hammock, musical pipes and drums, perfect for kids to explore and engage with their senses.

This playground is a beloved part of the community, providing hours of fun and excitement for kids of all ages and abilities. We want to thank the Yarra City Council for making this incredible upgrade possible, and for creating a safe and inclusive space for kids to play and grow.

So come on down and experience the magic of the new and improved Darling Gardens playground – you won’t be disappointed!
