Nar Nar Goon Recreation Reserve

Cardinia Shire Council has truly listened to their community surrounding the Nar Nar Goon Recreation Reserve, and they asked for a playground that looked and felt like a playground – bright, colourful, and lots of fun for families visiting the reserve. That’s where we came in, and we designed a beautiful space that the locals love. However, it took three visits before we could take photos due to its popularity!

The play structure is a rainbow of colours, with arched monkey bars that lead to steps for easy access and a wave slide that takes you to a higher 1.8m spiral slide. Both decks are covered with a roof for shade, making it perfect for those hot summer days. In addition, there is a giant climbing cube with lots of activities, a pendulum swing that will take you on a wild ride, and a jitterbug to bounce around on. The structure also features interactive panels that will keep kids entertained for hours.

But that’s not all! The playground also has a 4-bay post swing with two strap seats and two all-abilities seats, making it accessible for everyone. This is an important feature, ensuring that children of all abilities can play together. It’s a great opportunity to encourage inclusivity and to teach children the value of diversity.

Play is essential for the healthy development of children, and this playground provides a fun and engaging way for kids to exercise their bodies and minds. By using a range of equipment, children can develop their motor skills, coordination, and balance, as well as fostering creativity and imagination. Moreover, playing outside encourages kids to engage with nature, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
