The Whitehorse City Council Somers East Trail playground is a refreshing update to a small community park located in a beautiful, natural setting. The playground features an inviting orange and blue color palette that stands out and encourages play, while still complementing the natural surroundings. The trail is a short loop that takes about 30 minutes to complete, making it perfect for families with young children who are just starting to explore the outdoors.

The playground is located at the halfway point of the trail, making it the perfect pit stop for kids to take a break and play. The playground includes a cube structure with rope and rockwall climbing, a spiral slide, an a-frame swing with a toddler seat and strap seat, burmese bridge with roll over bar, jitterbug and sfera for added fun and challenge. The playground’s location on a slope does present some challenges, but our team have found innovative ways to overcome them to ensure a fun, safe and accessible playground for all.

This trail is not just a fun and educational way to enjoy nature, but it also helps to promote physical activity and outdoor play. It’s a great way to get the kids outside and away from screens, and enjoy the beauty of the natural environment.
