Horsham Special School – Senior Playground

Safe Play Australia partnered with Horsham Special School to deliver a purpose-designed senior play space that enhances student wellbeing, supports diverse abilities and reflects the school’s commitment to safe, inclusive learning environments.

Responding to Principal Ben’s vision for something beyond conventional playground equipment, our team developed a bespoke play structure featuring four interconnected cubes at varying heights, each linked by a range of climbing and interactive elements. This design encourages physical challenge, imaginative play and social interaction — all within a secure and accessible environment. Building play around changing levels and connection points supports strength, coordination and confidence for senior students, while inviting exploration and peer engagement in ways that traditional play equipment cannot.

 The end result is a dynamic play space that offers layered challenge and choice, inviting students to test their skills and build resilience in a supportive environment.

Already a favourite with students and staff alike, this play space strengthens the school’s outdoor learning and recreation facilities, enhancing the campus as a whole.
