Working with Safe Play – Common Questions
How does the playground project process work for schools?
We start with a site visit and a conversation — understanding what your students need, what your budget looks like, and what your school council needs to see to approve the project. From there we develop concept designs and provide everything you need to take it forward with confidence.
Can you help us apply for grants or funding?
We can guide you through the kinds of grants typically available to schools for playground upgrades, and help with the documentation suppliers are expected to provide as part of an application. We work with a lot of schools through this process and understand what funders look for.
How do you handle compliance and Australian Standards?
Everything we supply meets AS 4685 playground equipment safety standards and AS/NZS 4422 impact attenuation requirements for surfacing. Full compliance documentation is provided as standard — so your school council and any inspectors have everything they need from day one.
Can you work with our existing equipment?
Yes. We’ll assess your current playground as part of the consultation — what’s still serviceable, what needs replacing, and how to integrate new equipment with existing infrastructure where that makes sense. You don’t always need to start from scratch.
How long does a typical school playground project take?
Every project is different, but most school installations — from first consultation to completed install — run over two to four months. We work around school schedules wherever possible, including holiday installation where timing allows.
What ongoing support do you provide after installation?
We provide warranties on all equipment and surfacing, and offer ongoing maintenance, inspection, and repair services. We can support your compliance obligations as well as the day-to-day care of the space.
